Power 100V–120V US and Japanese appliances from Australian 240V mains with the OHuge™ 100W Isolated Toroidal Voltage Converter — whisper-quiet, zero electromagnetic interference, and built for continuous operation.

The OHuge™ 100W Isolated Toroidal Voltage Converter is a premium-grade voltage transformation solution for powering North American or Japanese 100V–120V appliances from Australian 230V–240V mains. The toroidal core design sets this unit apart: it produces virtually no electromagnetic interference (EMI), making it the ideal choice for sensitive audio, medical, or precision equipment where conventional transformers would cause interference.

Unlike standard E-I core transformers, toroidal designs are mechanically and acoustically quiet — producing minimal hum or vibration. The isolated winding also provides an additional layer of electrical safety, separating input and output circuits and protecting connected appliances from mains transients and surges.

With a true 100W continuous rating — including sustained 24/7 operation at full load — this converter is purpose-built for compact, low-draw appliances including lamps, chargers, personal grooming devices, docking speakers, and other light electronics. Its compact footprint and low weight make it the most portable toroidal unit in the OrderHuge x OHuge® range — equally at home on a desk, bedside table, or packed into a carry-on bag.

Proudly Australian-owned and stocked locally, with fast dispatch and secure payment. Whether you're powering a Japanese bedside lamp, an imported personal device, or a specialist low-wattage instrument, the OrderHuge x OHuge® STIS-100TP delivers clean, interference-free power in the smallest possible package. For indoor use only. Always match voltage ratings before connecting.

Compatible Devices

The STIS-100TP is ideal for a wide range of compact imported American and Japanese appliances, including:

  • USA and Japanese lamps and bedside lamps — one of the most popular applications; runs continuously and quietly 24/7.
  • iPhone, iPad and iPod chargers and docking speakers — clean, interference-free power for sensitive Apple accessories purchased overseas.
  • Small battery chargers — camera chargers, shaver chargers, and personal device chargers under 100W.
  • Personal grooming devices — light-duty hair clippers, electric shavers, and facial devices with low motor draws.
  • Light-duty consumer sewing machines — compact Brother, Janome and Singer models with low wattage draws. For heavier consumer or semi-professional machines, use the STIS-300TP.
  • Standard cordless drill chargers — Makita, Milwaukee and DeWalt standard (non-fast) chargers. LiPo and lithium fast chargers require the STIS-300TP or higher.
  • Compact Japanese rice cookers — small-capacity models popular with Japanese-Australian and Asian-Australian households. For full-size rice cookers, use the STIS-300TP.
  • Chef's Choice Food Slicers — lighter models including the 609C and 610.
  • Small USB charging hubs and desktop electronics — low-draw imported devices, DACs, and personal audio equipment.

Choosing the Right Converter — Getting the Size Right

Selecting the correct step-down converter is essential for safe, long-term operation. Here's how to determine whether the STIS-100TP is right for your appliance:

Step 1 — Find your appliance's power draw Look for the input label on your appliance. It will typically display something like: "Input: 120V 60Hz — X Amps" or "Input: 120V 60Hz — X Watts." You only need two of these three values to calculate the third:

Power (Watts) = Voltage (V) × Current (Amps)

Example: 120V × 6.15A = 738W — this appliance requires the ST-1000, or the ST-1500 for continuous use.

Step 2 — Consider how long your appliance will run All PAC Range converters carry two power ratings: one for use under one hour, and one for continuous operation beyond one hour. The STIS-100TP is rated for a full 100W continuous output — including 24/7 operation — making it ideal for appliances such as lamps and chargers that run around the clock. Always ensure adequate airflow around the unit — avoid tucking it behind appliances or inside enclosed cupboards.

Step 3 — Does your appliance contain a motor, pump, heating element, or compressor? These components draw significantly more power at startup than during normal operation. For appliances with any of these elements, select a converter rated at 3 to 6 times the appliance's stated wattage to handle surge demand safely. If in doubt, contact our live support team before purchasing.

Step 4 — Check your plug type The STIS-100TP's UL-approved output socket accepts all three common US and Japanese plug configurations: standard 2-pin, 2-pin keyed (one wider blade), and 3-pin (two flat, one round). Note: pressed metal sockets may require firm initial insertion — this is normal and ensures a secure, lasting connection.

A Note on Frequency: 60Hz Appliances Running on 50Hz

Australian mains power runs at 50Hz; the USA and Japan operate at 60Hz. In most cases, this difference has minimal practical impact — but there are a few things worth knowing:

  • Motors will run approximately 8–10% slower. On refrigerators, this may require a slight thermostat adjustment.
  • Sewing machines and most turntables with speed controls are generally unaffected.
  • Some digital turntables with precise speed controllers may be impacted.
  • Home AV receivers are mostly unaffected, though some chipsets (notably certain Onkyo models) may experience video sync issues.
  • Gaming consoles vary widely — contact our team before use, as some consoles are incompatible with step-down converters.

For appliances exceeding 100W continuous draw, we recommend stepping up to the STIS-300TP or STIS-600TP. Not sure which model suits your appliance? Contact our technical support team — we're happy to help.
